With 9 players and 1 goalie for Saturday, and 7 skaters and 1 goalie for Sunday, we can't fulfill our goal of sending 2 teams to Kilkenny for weekend friendlies.

The trip is postponed until more players are able to make the trip.

Jason.

I hope that summer was great for all of you, and that you're all excited to get back to playing inline hockey!

The format for the program will be much the same as last year:

- Every player must register with Inline Hockey Ireland, which is our national governing body. The registration fee is €15 for players under 16, and €30 for players 16 and over. Registration Form Download
- The program will be run in 10-session blocks.
- The cost if paying in advance is €65 for the first child in a family, and €30 for every subsequent child in the family. This can be pro-rated if someone joins mid-session and wishes to pay in advance.
- The cost if paying per session is €9 for the first child in a family, and €5 for every subsequent child.
- Typically we will not run the program on bank holiday weekends

For those of you that have not heard, Bob and his wife welcomed a baby boy to their family this summer, and my wife and I will have our first in the coming weeks. We will be asking for your help this session.

Finally, a few ground rules to help practices run smoothly and to keep players safe.

1) Players should be ready to play when at the starting time of the session (4:30PM). This means players have used the toilets if necessary, have their water bottle with them, and are dressed and ready to play. Coaches are around from 4:10PM onwards (or earlier) and that's the best time to ask questions or get help with equipment.

2) All mandatory equipment will be required within 4 weeks of a player attending their first session. Coaches will assess the players equipment and advise on what is required and where to obtain it.

The first session will be on Sunday, September 14 at 4:30PM. I'll be happy to talk to anyone about equipment or answer any questions between now and then. My mobile is 086-1609431. I would also welcome any feedback you might have on last year's program. Please watch your email over the coming week for a poster that you can download and distribute to friends/neighbours/shops/schools.

Looking forward to seeing you all back at Little Island,
Jason

In order to get started on the Senior Team project for 2008-2009, we need to solicit some contributions from our members.

Here are the positions that were identified as key to getting this project rolling:

Coach (3 hours weekly)
Team Manager (3 hours weekly)
Assistant Coach (3 hours weekly)
Assistant Manager (1-3 hours weekly)
Selectors (optional)

Before things can get started, we need at a minimum someone interested in coaching and a team manager. These volunteers will be fully supported by the IHC Committee in their positions. If you are interested, please contact me by email at jason.tessier@inlinehockeycork.com or call me on 086-1609431.

It's time to step up and nominate yourselves or others!

Cheers,
Jason

Players, please bring white and blue jerseys with numbers, and any spares you may have for others. You may be asked to switch teams.
